MANILA, Philippines — The initial autopsy on actress and freelance model Gina Lima, who was declared dead on arrival at a Quezon City hospital on Monday, found no external injuries that could have caused her death, though police said they are awaiting further laboratory results before determining what led to her death.
A medico-legal report from the Quezon City Police District’s Forensic Unit said the 23-year-old model sustained only nonfatal external injuries. Forensic examiners also noted organ congestion, including fluid in her lungs and a congested heart, findings consistent with early assessments suggesting possible cardio-respiratory distress.
Police Capt. Michael Aarón Alcantara, who conducted the examination on Tuesday, said the cause of death remains “undetermined” pending toxicology and histopathology tests. Investigators have sent Lima’s blood, urine, stomach contents, vaginal swabs, and tissue samples for further analysis. Read More:
